My Story

My Roman Story

My name is Sextus Cassius Cantius, I was born in 18 AD in Aosta, I am the 3rd son of 5 and one sister.

Aosta is the principal city of the Aosta Valley, a region in the Italian Alps, 110 km north-northwest of Turin.
My family are land owners in the valley and are known for the high quality Olive Oil we make, our Olive fields run from hill top to the valley.

In the year 36 AD I married my wife Lucia Livia, we have a daughter named Cassia, we live together with my family working the land, growing Olives to turn into Oil.

I joined the Preatorian Guard at age 21 in 39AD, I was forunate enough to be included in the Triumph parade of Emperor Claudius to mark the recovery of the last of the lost Eagles in Germanica, lost by that fool Varus when he marched the his legions into a trap at Teutoburg Forest.

Currently I serve the Emperor Claudius as a member of the Praetorian Guard, a position that afford me to remain in Rome more often than not and the pay is good so I can help support my family.

The Emperor seems to be one who is likely to remain in Rome more than not so I am looking forward to a long life with domestic duties taking up most of my time and the occasional chance to get home to see the wife and daughter.
